Blue Heron Apparel started as an idea many years ago while I was the Design Director for an apparel company in New York City. Working as the Designer, Merchandiser, overseeing Quality Control, Production and Selling the line, I began questioning why I am doing all this work for someone else. Providing casual, fun distinctive clothing with a fashion flare to women is something I have been doing for years working for many well known companies as Macy’s, May Company, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.
In 2008, my partner and I finally took the plunge and moved to South Florida and started our own company. With the goal of providing women with original, refreshing, captivating casual wear as well as resort and sportswear that they can incorporate into their everyday lifestyle and their wardrobe, Blue Heron Apparel was started. Our brand differentiates itself with relaxed, year-round sensibility, simply inspired designs, coastal comfort and appealing sportswear at a reasonable price that women can enjoy.
The name “Blue Heron Apparel” comes from the birds, Blue Herons, that reside around the lake that we live on. We named the label to reflect a casual feeling that had ties to water but yet did not require a strictly marine theme. As our company grows so too will our assortment of product. Blue Heron will be offering accessories, home furnishings and finally menswear. We would like to grow to become a full lifestyle brand providing you with products for a relaxed and casual way of life.
In an effort to give back to the environment, Blue Heron Apparel will donate a portion of our profits to conserving and restoring natural ecosystems, focusing on birds and their habitat for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biological diversity.
